Going BODA LOCA with Kenny Kim & The Gang! Good Times :)

Yesterday in Reston, VA I had a blast hanging out with Kenny Kim, Paul Price, Noah Hayes, Peter Bang, Laura Auer, Jaime & Stuart. Jaime & Stuart were gracious enough to be our fun models to shoot, and fun indeed! Laura, owner of Soiree Special Events, also became our official "Boda Model", whoo hoo! Kenny is a Chicago based wedding photographer in town to shoot a wedding. I met Kenny during the Mike Colon/Bob Davis Tour, and then had some good times in Vegas/WPPI. Thanks Kenny for taking some time with us out of your busy schedule!

First, Kenny, Laura & I had some Caramel Macchiatos...yum!

Then the gang showed off the Boda Bags...

Laura Auer is one of the best wedding coordinators I know.
And we volunteered her to be our lovely Boda model, ha!

Laura was so awesome, she had all our Boda bags on! Haha!

Kenny!

And even Laura was showing us how it's done!

We love our job!

Jaime & Stuart were pretty much up for anything. We loved it!

Here's "what brown can do for you", lol
(It's a UPS truck folks!)

I enjoyed getting shots of Noah, Kenny and Peter working...Bodas slung & ready!

While we were shooting, we drew a lot of attention.
So of course we returned the favor by taking photos of a few curious people, including cute kids and Kristina who works at one of the shops at Reston Town Center (middle)

Oh and the cutest dog came up to us... and was camera friendly!

A few more fun shots!

All in all we had a lot of fun. Check out everyone else's blogs for more!

Kenny Kim in Town

I'm amped about meeting up with my buddy Chicago-based wedding photographer Kenny Kim & friends later today. We first met in Baltimore on the Colon/Davis tour and then hung out in Vegas in March. Kenny's reuniting with old friends of his in the DC area for a wedding he's shooting and is taking some time out of his busy schedule to hang out. Looking forward to it! Kenny took the couple to Ocean City, MD yesterday for their engagement shoot and ran into a "Good Times" store, and blogged about it. For those that know him, you'll get the joke, lol.

Of course I'll post some pics from today later, but here are some oldies I took...

Kenny was recently featured in an interview on F-Stop Beyond!

Tiffany Reed

I wanted to post some pretty head shots of my new friend and bride-to-be, Tiffany Reed. Last week she had her dress fitting and I was honored to be able to photograph the event. Her mother and grandmother were there to witness a milestone in her life and the tears couldn't help fall from their eyes :) One of the employees at Country Miss Bridal said, "she's gotta be one of the happiest brides ever!" Well I have to agree, she exudes happiness, you can't help but be in a good mood when you're around her. She'll be a gorgeous bride for sure! Sorry, but I cannot post any images of Tiffany with the dress on for obvious reasons, but here are some candids I got of her... always smiling :)

After the fitting, we went to lunch and Tiff gave me her "Diet Mountain Dew" ad photo smile!

It was way cool hangin' with Tiff, mom & grandmother. I'm amped about their summer time engagement shoot and their fall wedding! So keep an eye out for it right here on the blog!

Star Struck in D.C.!

On Memorial Day the family & I ran into some old friends. Johnny Depp, Denzel Washington, Beyonce, J-Lo, George Clooney, and of course a famous former military leader were in town :) There were so many other people, but I tried to keep this post short so I got a few photos to show you....

First here we are walking past the front of Denise's office building, Venable LLP.

Johnny Depp was kind enough to pose for a shot... Denise was smitten ;)

...but not as smitten as she was with J-Lo! Yummy ;) HAHA

I had to get into the action too. Beyonce and I were instant friends!

Ah yes, the one & only Denzel. This is for you Tira!
He said to tell you to have your people call his people so the two of you can do lunch.

Hey, I think Denise is such a flirt!

Denise is a nurturing person, here she is comforting General Lee...
Or is she about to smack him upside the head? LOL

Denise got caught in the middle of a political conversation

Nate took the podium and addressed the nation... Secret Service nearby

Then Hoover & Nate played good cop/bad cop with me

Meanwhile, Denise & Jordan were working the celebrity crowd

Nathan giving Tiger some encouragement

So you probably figured out we were at Madame Tussauds wax museum in D.C..
After a very fun time rubbing elbows with the Hollywood elite and people of power, we headed to Fuddruckers in China Town

Mmm...milkshake!

The weather was just perfect on Monday. We headed to Gravelly Point park near Reagan National Airport to watch the planes thunder over us... way cool :)

We love how low (and loud) the planes fly over us

To give some perspective, this image was shot full wide at 24mm with my 24-70mm lens

Oh and did I mention I got a new office ;)

.... hmmm... does that look like the White House lawn through the window?? :)
